REGISTRATION
Registration is open to the following categories of candidates:
Members of a Canadian professional engineering association who are resident in Ontario, such as PEO who hold membership as an Engineer Intern (EIT) or as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.). EITs will be asked to submit the verification by the provincial licensing body that they have satisfied the academic requirements for licensure. Please note that Limited Licensees (Eng. L.) are not eligible to apply.
Graduates of an accredited Canadian undergraduate engineering program who are a resident in Ontario.
Members of the graduating class of University of Windsor's undergraduate engineering program. You will be advised by a Warden of Camp 14 or your grad class representative when it is time to register for the ceremony.
The fee to participate in the ceremony and receive your Iron Ring is $30. However, if you are a member of the current graduating class from the University of Windsor, your fee has been covered by the Engineering Students Society. For payment details for non-graduating students (e.g. senior candidates), please contact Camp 14 directly at ironring@uwindsor.ca.
RING SIZE
After your obligation in the ceremony, you will be given a ring as a symbol of your commitment. It is to be worn on the pinky finger of your working hand.
If you are part of the graduating class, you will receive further instructions regarding ring sizing, that will take place on campus.
If you are an outside candidate (e.g. senior candidate), please verify your ring size by visiting a local jeweler before you place your order.
When ready to complete your registration for the event, click on the link below which will automatically transfer over to Jotform.com. After submitting your order, you will receive an email confirmation and a Camp 14 representative will follow up with you in a few days. Please be patient, as this service is provided by volunteers.
CEREMONY BACKGROUND and INFORMATION FOR CANDIDATES
As a candidate for the upcoming Calling of an Engineer ceremony, you must be familiar with the background and basic premise of the Obligation and what it means. Please review the videos using the following link. There are THREE (3) videos with a total viewing time of approximately 30 minutes. The registration forms ask you some basic questions about the ceremony, which is discussed in these videos.
Note that these videos were produced several years ago. There have been recent notable changes for the Ceremony from 2025 onwards (e.g. the cermony is no longer referred to as the "Ritual"), however, the history, development and importance of the Ceremony are still widely applicable.
